Join us for a relaxed afternoon of paper flower making at the beautiful waterfront venue, Akarana in Ōkahu Bay.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create delicate Icelandic poppies from crepe paper. Each sheet of paper has been individually hand-dyed to create the soft, subtle variations that make these flowers look so beautifully realistic.

We’ll explore lots of satisfying techniques – from scrunching and shaping the delicate petals to creating the intricate centres and gently curved stems that give every poppy its own personality.

No experience is needed. I’ll guide you through every stage, with all materials prepared and ready for you to create your own collection of everlasting poppies to take home and arrange in your favourite vase.

Come on your own or bring a friend, settle in beside the water and enjoy a couple of creative hours making something genuinely beautiful. Prosecco and other drinks will be available to purchase from the bar throughout the workshop.
