Many hands make light work!
We have our very own home grown sailors coordinating a beach clean up! They’ve been assigned a school project to take on an environmental issue and make a difference to a local area. Luckily for us they’ve chosen Okahu Bay/Beach and asked for the support of the club and it’s members!
Come down and give them a hand before Akarana Series racing on Sunday the 5th of November. We’ll have a pre-racing sausage sizzle to fuel up and some prizes to be won for our best rubbish collectors!
We’ll be starting from the far end (by Kelly Tarltons) of Okahu Beach at 11am and working out way across the beach and back to the club. We’re aiming to be wrapped up by 12:15 for everyone to rig and get ready for afternoon racing. So if you’re already planning on coming to race or don’t have any plans yet, we’d love you to come down to collect some rubbish, clean the beach, help the environment!
BYO gloves & litter picker. Rubbish bags/disposal all provided!
